Dear Family,
The grade eight graduation celebration will be held on Thursday, June 25th from 6:30 to 11:00 p.m. The ceremony and dance will be held at Bingemans. It would be appreciated if all students and guests could be at Bingemans at 6:00 p.m. to enable us to begin the ceremony at 6:30 p.m. sharp.
Due to our large number of graduates, each family is limited to TWO tickets. The order form is below. Your graduate does not require a ticket. Purchased tickets will be sent home with students on Monday, June 15th. A very limited number of additional tickets are available to accommodate unique family circumstances. Please contact the office if you require further information.
* Please submit payment (cash only) in an envelope labelled with your child’s name and homeroom.
Cheques will not be accepted for this event.
* Admission will not be permitted without a ticket bought in advance. Tickets will not be available for purchase at the door on graduation evening.
Our graduation celebration recognizes the accomplishments of all students leaving to continue their education at secondary school. It is not an event that requires great fanfare and expense. We wish to emphasize that the purchase or rental of elaborate or formal clothing is inappropriate. It is an evening to put the “best” outfit forward. Jeans, hats, t-shirts are inappropriate, however, dress pants, a dress, suit or blouse/skirt are suitable. As you plan for this event with your child, all families should note that we remain sensitive to the cost of clothing and do not support the concept that graduation should be an expensive affair. The KW Princess Project has organized a donated grad dress event on May 25th. See the school website for more information.
A dance will take place after the graduation ceremony. The dance, for our graduates only, will be held at Bingemans. All Westheights grade eight students are invited to stay, chaperoned by Westheights staff and school council parents. Students should bring a small amount of money if they wish to purchase a snack. Students may not change into casual school attire for the dance.

Parents must pick up their graduates at or before 11:00 p.m. sharp please!

During the morning of Thursday, June 25th the students will have a graduation rehearsal at Bingemans. All grade eight students are expected to attend. We will return to Westheights in time for second nutrition break (12:17 p.m.). If your student is going to be absent following the rehearsal, a note from a parent must be sent to the homeroom teacher on or before June 25th.
