Dear Westheights Families,

A warm welcome to Westheights and a new school year! We are looking forward to working with our returning Westheights Warriors as well as those new to Westheights. We also look forward to meeting with all of the families in the near future and encourage you to drop by and introduce yourself when you are at the school.

A new school year is always exciting. Our focus at Westheights will be on providing each child with new challenges that will result in a rewarding school experience. Many and diverse learning experiences are in place for your child this year. We encourage each young person to reach out and explore all of the possibilities. Our goal is to challenge your child intellectually, help them grow socially, and guide them toward independent thinking and problem solving. As we strive to promote healthy development in all aspects of each student’s life, we also strive to develop a student body of good character. Students who make good choices and decisions achieve successful and healthy outcomes. We encourage students to demonstrate the best of themselves every moment of every day and to make positive contributions to the groups and organizations to which they belong. School spirit and pride is alive and well with the Westheights Warriors!
As we begin this year, please remember that this is your school, and we welcome your involvement.
Communication networks will be established through our school website, Instagram, School Day and twitter to keep you up to date about what is happening at Westheights on a regular basis (http://wsh.wrdsb.ca and westheightsps). Please utilize the school website and all of the valuable information and forms that are kept current.

Please let your child’s homeroom teacher know if you do not have internet access since many forms and information are posted on our website.
You are welcome to attend the monthly school council meetings. We encourage you to join us at school activities, and to get involved with your child’s learning experience whenever possible.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call. We look forward to working with you and your child throughout the school year to provide a productive and safe learning environment that supports student success.

Great things will take place this year at Westheights where “The Way of the Warrior” rules!
