Dear Westheights Families,

I am very pleased to share that our Region of Waterloo Public Health nurses in cooperation with WRDSB staff, will be providing an evening presentation to better understand vaping, cannabis and alcohol use as it relates to our teenagers. We had our school presentations last week and I must say, they were exceptional. A perfect balance of education, identifying risks and offering strategies of support. I was shocked and humbled at what I did not know and urge families to attend the presentation. The world we grew up in has changed significantly and it is important that, as adults, we educate ourselves in order to prepare and support our children/students.

The presentation will take place in the Westheights library on the evening of January 30th, beginning at 7 pm. A formal poster, with RSVP, will be shared with families soon. Interpreters will also be on site to support multi-language learners.
